Your all time top 10 singles and albums?

Post by mark hughes »

I thought this would be an interesting subject so how about it then? What would be your all time top ten records, and not necessarily ones that were released as singles, and your top ten albums?

Here's mine but in no particular order as it would take me hours deliberating as to who should be number 1.

Singles:

Brothers In Arms - Dire Straits
Lampiou - Chris Rea
Hardcore - Pulp
Enjoy The Silence - Depeche Mode
Wild Wood - Paul Weller
Winter Song - Chris Rea
No Need To Argue - The Cranberries
A Lady Of A Certain Age - The Divine Comedy
One More Matinee - Mark Knopfler
Shape Of My Heart - Sting

Albums:

Blue Guitars - Chris Rea (a definite number 1)
Shangri-la - Mark Knopfler
Tubular Bells 3 - Mike Oldfield
King Of The Beach - Chris Rea
Avalon Sunset - Van Morrison
Piece By Piece - Katie Melua
Different Class - Pulp
The Invisible Band - Travis
Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd
The Road To Freedom - Chris De-Burgh (cringe all you like I love it 8) )

Completely insane task you got over here :) People could get insane while trying to figure this out :) I mean I don´t want to even try to do this, so many great bands, albums, songs, how in hell I could put 10 best albums on the list, not to mention 10 songs (singles) !!!!???!?!?!?!? :D
Too many good words to add here.
I better just sit back and drink beer. :)

It would take too long to do singles, but here are some of my fav albums...

Tom Petty Full moon fever
John Prine Lost dogs and mixed blessings
Chris Rea The Blue Juekbox
Don Henly Actual Miles
Billy Joel An Innocent Man
Rod Stewart A Spanner in the works
Bruce Springsteen Tunnel of love(or maybe The Rising!)
Rod Stewart Out of Order
Chris Rea Wired to the moon
Stevie Nicks Timespace

I don't expect to see many of those pop-up on other lists!
