If Chris asked you?????

So, I know this won't happen, but if Chris Rea asked YOU what you would like him to play at the concert you are attending what would be your choice?

A tough one I know but you can only chose 15 songs so what would they be?

Here's mine:

Lampiou

Curse Of The traveller

Because Of You

Who Do You Love

September Blue

Light Of Hope

I'm Still Holding On

Wired To The Moon

Windy Town

Blues For Janice

Come Change My World

Last Drink

Steel River

Winter Song

Are You Ready?

Come on folks I'm sure we all have an opinion or a favourite?

There is a good thread going on at the Mark Knopfler forum on the same subject so I thought it would be interesting to read opinions here.

The tread is good all right but the choice is not easy at all.
I would love to hear in concert a mixture of the "old' and the "new" tunes, just the way Chris designed his current setlist.

1. It's all gone (Dancing Shoes, 'live' album), when you reminisce about your youth, the years gone by...
2. Hello Friend (Dancing Shoes, 'live' album), meeting a friend from one's high school...
3. Midnight Blue (Dancing Shoes, 'live' album), wanting to look good and feel good...
4. Ace of Hearts (Dancing Shoes, 'live' album), when you're in love...
5. Dancing Girls (Tennis album), for all those free spirit girls...
6. Espresso Logic (Espresso Logic album), reminds me of Italy...
7. Johnny Needs a Fast Car (Espresso Logic album), who doesn't?
8. Looking for the Summer (Auberge album), still looking for the summer...
9. Too Much Pride (God's Great Banana Skin album), just try to be humble in life....
10. Soft Top, Hard Shoulders (God's Great Banana Skin album), if you have a soft heart you must be ready to take the beating, unfortunately...
11. Give that Girl a Diamond (Stony Road album), some girls definitely deserve them...
12. Hey Gringo (Blue Guitars album), what a great human touch song....
13. American Way (Blue Guitars album), a real life story...
14. Angellina (Blue Guitars album), washes away every heartache....
15. Blues for Janice (FHBN album), I'll remember what you've done for me...

5 Someday My Peace Will Come.
6 Changing Times.
7 When The Good Lord talked To Jesus.

He do ask me
sure!
my choice is
stony road ( live one with this caracteristic solo distorsed sounding thansk to Tommy to prepare the guitar of this Genius)
road to hell with the red light (where are the devil horns?)
square peg round hole ( I don't like tikker)
because it's you (one day,I'll go banging on his door...)
and you start again.......

it would be easier to ask him to play 15 of his BEST albums isn't it a bright ideA?
just a gig 3 or 4 days long with some place to sleep, food and we go on..... a sort of rea-woodstock???????????

A fantastic idea! :D :D

Hey Little Couinie, I don't know if you remember me but we were 'friends' as is it's called on Myspace? I was under the name of Shangri-la and later on Ragpicker? I also brought your attention to this forum. Anyway we were chatting a while ago about a blues concert you were organising how is it going? I'm sure you promised me some free tickets

I deleted my account there as I didn't have time for it any more but I wish I'd kept your e-mail and kept in touch. :(

hello you both
it's sure a great idea I have only great ideas... crazy, but in love with his music so..
that would be nice but it's a little bit tiring for CHRIS perhpas alls fans musicians would work to help him and
Martin, Robert Colin and Neil... what else? (it"s looking like Georges Clooney 's advertising for cofee machine..
oh I need one (coffee it's to early..)
cheers breath of blues
for Mark , go to my festival site http://foyublues.free.fr and keep in touch

Hi Tina, yes I am a big knopfler fan and I will be seeing him next month at the Albert Hall! The set list looks good, a mix of oldies and newies. Are you going to see him on his current tour?

Hi Mark,
I like Mark Knopfler too but not as much as Chris.I'm not going to see him this time for 2 reasons. The 1st is because the place for the concert is not good for concerts as the sound is terrible and 2 because Chris takes 1st place and I have been to see him twice so that all I can afford for now.
Tina :) :)

Hi Tina,

Mark Knopfler is playing at the Albert hall, the same venue as Chris, although I had to pay nearly twice as much for the tickets :( I'm sorry to hear you can't make it to see him but i hope this doesn't make you feel worse by giving you the set list he will be playing? :( but it is as follows:

1 Cannibals

2 Why Eye man

3 What it is

4 Sailing to Philadelphia

5 True love will never fade

6 The Fish and the bird

7 Hill Farmer's blues

8 Romeo & Juliet

9 Sultans of Swing

10/11 Marbeltown / Daddy's Gone to Knoxville

12 Postcards from Paraguay

13 Speedway at Nazareth

14 Telegraph Road

15 Brothers in arms

16 Our Shangri-la

17 So far away

18 Going home

I agree that Chris is definitely my first choice of musician as well but still looking forward to it none the less.

Hi Mark,
There are some great songs here.Lucky you !! if Mark tours again I will make sure and get to see him. His Dublin concert is sold out which is not suprising.Maybe you could do a post on his concert afterwards but if I may suggest it might be better if you put it in the "Other Artists" section so Bart won't have extra work to do moving posts around.I look forward to hearing your review.
Tina :) :)
