CR Cover

Post by chrismiller »

Hey everyone,

While the other topic on CR guitars is pending right now because of researches; I thought I put this on here.
So there's a cover for Tell Me There's A Heaven performed by Hungarian singer Zoran. It was recorded in 1994 and actually I know the song since then; I only forgot mentioning here at all.
Here it is now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hM2wJEZW-o.

The music is the same, of course, and Zoran doesn't have as great voice as Chris does; but his brother Dusan wrote the lyrics and that's really great and touching. Since neither of you speak Hungarian I made a loan translation.

"Covered her grey hair with a shawl
The way late grandmas did
And when our dad could not see
She began whispering:

Fold your hands like this
So each good children do
And measured us with sad eye
And we laughed God knows why

Look up there; the sky is high
Though they say it's not true
Cause aviators, they've been there
And couldn't see it - nowhere

There must be a country up there that might wait for us
There must be a country up there that only can't be found
There must be a country up there that can hug everyone
There must be a country up there that we never can ruin

Men grew up to see everything
The whole world fits in our room
And a child ain't understand this all
Laying his head on a pile of stone
His face is nice; he ain't dreaming
Sound of cannon can't even wake him up
There's a lone sound; soft and tired
Like an old-time lullaby

Look up there; the sky is high
Let them say it's not true
What do them aviators know?
Their hearts are cold like ice

There must be a country up there... "

Yours,
Chris
