'La Passione' 2 CD and 4 DVD earbook release 2015

Yes that it is, a tribute and a good one. Hopefully he has done it with the music / video material as well. Original La Passione came almost 20 years ago and I haven´t seen the movie, soundtrack has good things but also material which does not work with me. New music would be nice to hear.

I love the cover art, it is the best tribute he can give to the driver he admired as a boy and filed his dreams, Wolfgang Von Trips, I have pre ordered but do not anticipate being blown away, lets wait and see. The first release was not one of my favourites and the film itself a bit to arty for my taste.
However, as I have aged since then I maybe will be ready to re visit and be more positive about the project. I do hope the new material includes new songs. Whatever is said, you can never doubt the passion Chris has for his projects, he believes in them and isn't looking for critical acclaim.

Roll on 6th November.

I hope there is not only an interview but also another collaboaration of Chris with Jools Halland band playng live. I wonder what could they play together,considerong that Chris is not playing guitar but only singing in the picture from BBC2 studios.

Chris came to Jools's show first time on Oct, 9 in 2009, then he cave a great interview and played 2 amazing versions of Still So Far to Go and Highway 61/49 with a lot of jazz feel added by Jools's band.

Which is strange is the countdown, it says release in 12 days, but it is still coming later, not in November 6th, but 12th of October as the website says. Now that is totally mixed up, it should only be one date which they let out for the public......

I wish they would have published new music and not the old song. It is one of the best on the old album, but still new music would have been better at this point. New footage on the video is nice though, but that is not reason for the buying the product, must be new music too.....

Spent sometime yesterday reading about Von Trips and looking some Youtube videos about him, and the documentary on Wolfgang Von Trips on this boxset is getting me interested more and more. Might be more interesting than the actual movie La Passione which I haven´t seen.Time will tell.

Hi again MRB and Anneke,

I have checked out the new mix of Girl in a Sports Car from the new video. There is no new additions to it at all, except for maybe some new background guitar lines (which are either newly-added or made louder). The only change, which makes the new mix longer, is that the orchestral passage in the middle of the song (after Chris sings "Is this really me?" in high pitch), that is extracted from the original recording and looped several times, as if a turntable needle repeatedly backtracks on a damaged vinyl disc.

At first I was very frustrated by this, but after listening over to it for a few times, I becamed accustomed to it. I hope that the only aim of this was to fit in with the new longer video with a lot of new scenes added and this new extended mix will not be feautred on soundtrack CD.

For the video, I see there are new footage with classic Ferraris added, incuding the prominent Ferrari 250 GTO (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_250_GTO), but it seems to me it still do not feature Ferrari Lusso, whose name is mentioned in the song's lyrics ("and she's sitting in her Lusso in the early morning sun").

After having read some rare Chris's interviews on La Passione background, I assume the song is about Chris's very first meeting the real Ferrari, when he as a boy came to Italy on a holiday. He says he cound not get his eyes off that car and fell in love with Ferrari cars ar once. Quite possibly it was Ferrari 250 GT Lusso (first built in 1963) driven by "a girl": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_250_GT_Lusso

I think we heard this in the "Last Open Road Tour"already, but they used different visuals as they are used in the renewed video. There was much more black and white as my memory serves my right.
Still he made some stuff for the BBC radio, can't wait! Jools Holland has a great radio and tv show, that will do right to Chris his work. And I really hope he will appear on radio soon. Many people think he looks bad, so maybe that's why everything came later than expected.
If I see him on pics in 2008, he looked as horrible as he looks on the latest pictures.
And I'm very curious if Joan will allow him to embark on a new Tour...
She really wasn't happy with the last one. So many questions.
I believe this movie will be more autobiographic. 65 is coming in sight in March! Just wow.
