My last thoughts were some time ago that it will be next year, along with a Tour if we're lucky.

Yeah, got prediction. The tour setlist is all the same, only change will be a small instrumental piece from La Passione before some other song starts. It may be played instead of "The Truth" from the Santo Spirito and then starts the "Til The Morning Sun Shines on My Love and Me".

Hi Anneke and MRB,

David Gilmour has recently shown everyone the perfectly planned marketing plan with a lot of really interesting stuff being released and re-released. In 1.5 years he announced and released 3 albums, 2 in 2014 under the name of Pink Floyd (The Division Bell 20th Anniversary vinyl reissue and The Endless River, being in fact a kind of The Division Bell part 2) and now he releases his long awaited solo album, on which he has been long since working hard.

He did not plan initially to release his solo album after The Division Bell 20th Anniversary and neither did he initially planned to release The Endless River at all, but it worked pretty well and now his forthcoming album is guaranteed to gain lots of attention, being, in addition, very elaborated over the years. The name of Pink Floyd works as a teaser in this case, a the unexpexted new album by Pink Flyd has been widely argued.

I think it could be good for Chris to release something really special and attractive (e.g., an "ordinnary" single CD with some new "old Chris" songs or a B-sides compilation) to get necessary attention to the new La Passione.

best regards
Andrey

Hi Andrey,

We only dream of all he could do, sadly it is very quiet on th Rea front.
Only some racing stuff. :( So he is still out there.
He knows how to keep quiet.

Sorry for a kind of an off-topic. but this message will hardly be noticed in any other branch...

I have just learned that Chris took part in the TV show filmed on 29.05.1987 in Ku Club (Privilege Ibiza): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privilege_Ibiza

The video is called "Ibiza '92" and was dedicated to 1992 Olympics and Freddie Mercury with Montserrat Caballé presented their duet there: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2076226/

Some videos from that even you may find on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ibiza+%2792

There is a big article about this event in El Pais paper from 31.05.1987: http://elpais.com/diario/1987/05/31/rad ... 50215.html

Do you know anything about that and maybe someone has the video with Chris from this TV shot?

Hope you may help me with that,

best regards

Hello all,

In regards to the comments from Audrey about the recent releases from David Gilmour. I certainly hope Chris doesn't take any cues from Gilmour other than musical cues. Chris' output of late is certainly starting to look very Gilmourian. The last Gilmour solo album "On an Island" (fantastic album by the way) came out 9 years ago. By comparison we are almost up to 4 years since the Santo Spirito release. Ridiculous! The Division Bell re-issue is just a re-hash of a good but not great album. I don't think very many people are rushing out to buy an expensive puffed up Division Bell Box set. Lastly the Endless River album didn't move the needle much. I listened to it once and never again. However I'm sure the new Gilmour solo album will be very good though.

I will state for the record again I hope there are still enough fans around to care when Chris gets around to re-releasing his Ferrari Manifesto La Passione. Unless its really special it stands to really lay an egg in terms of mass appeal. The subject material is way too personal rather then universal.

Sorry for pessimistic post,

Joe

Hi MRB,

yes, no news at all, even about Chris's racing. I posted here some time ago the "news" with pictures regarding Chris racing his Elva mk7s in Monza and Silverstone, but soon I found out it was not this year but 2013 and 2014 respectively...

This fact worries me slightly, to say the least, as Chris tends to be racing each summer year after year, and this year he 100% did NOT race at Silverstone, which is very strange and making me worried if his health is alright, especially considering no new release and no any information at all.

Really hope Chris is in fact quite fine, nevertheless.

best wishes
Andrey

Hi guys,

I found two links of him driving in a classic race in March and September. In a Morris Minor.
https://www.classicdriver.com/en/articl ... rs-meeting
No pictures, only mentioned!
Another one, Silverstone list:

Last I could find now:

At least been busy this sping with racing.

Best wishes,

Hi Ann,

thank you very much for the links! Quite good to know he raced this year in fact!

And here are the pictures of Chris's Morris at Goodwood, very funny car to race in!

hey, why not start new racing topic and not mess it into topic of new album? that racing has nothing to do with the album whatsoever.....

Thanks for the pictures Andrey!
Could only find those links, I saw last week he would drive this car in september too. But couldn't find that link, but it is there somewhere.
At least he feels good enough for racing in this funny car!
MRB if he races, he will be well enough to get some work done hopefully.
So it matters ;)

Best wishes,
Anneke

You are always welcome, Anneke!

And your other two links prove that Chris also raced his fun-car this year at Silverstone Int'l on Apr, 4-5 at Doninigton Historic Festival on May, 2-4.
And the Goodwood 73rd Members’ Meeting, from where the pictures are, was held on Mar, 21-22. Thus, at least 3 different races this spring and maybe another one in autumn, I assume it will be Goodwood Revival on Sep, 11-13: http://www.lovefarnham.org/job/profiles ... ival-2015/

I agree we better start a new topic on racing, but so low is the general attention, so it hardly will be active out of the new on the awaited new album...

Hi everyone,

as there are no news and no new album in sight, just a short "hello" from one of the oldest and dearest fans a musician can have: from me.
After the hot summer I just felt into "September Blue" and I feel the desire to hear old songs from Chris, with the feeling of summer, beach and a bit of melanchoia.
I hear the old albums, "water sign", "wired to the moon", "Deltics" and of cource "on the beach". I don´t know where Chris is and if he feels ok. I am (of course, like everyone in the forum)
a bit sad he brings no new music, and maybe has retired as a composer. But anyway, all the true feelings of his work are still deep in my mind... "And every time I see that star
I will say a prayer for you. Now and forever September blue..." Best rea-gards from Munich!
