Great pictures, Andrey, thank you so much for re-posting them.
The caption at the top of the photo collection (on the web page link provided) says, among others, that Chris will tour 15 German towns and at the session at the HR1 (Hessischer Rundfunk) he recorded a one-hour session which will be aired by HR1 on November 1, 2014.
So, I doubt there will be a new CD out any time soon.
Take care,
Chris

Hi Chris,

thanks a lot for pointing this out, did not notice this imporatant line.

But I do not understand how do you link a recorded live radio session to (not) releasing the new album.
I consider, on the other hand, that this is a good way of promoting the new release.

Anyway, soon we would get another 60 min. live bootleg (with the same live material I assume).

best regards
Andrey

Hi Andrey,

There's no link, of course, because there couldn't be any.
By the way, the Chris Rea's July Montreux gig was placed on Youtube.
Best regards,
Chris

Thanks Müfo, just received this link yesterday from a fellow Mark Knopfler fan. The website is in German and here is approximately what it reads in English:

"Bleecker Street presents live recordings of THE LAST OPEN ROAD tour of Chris Rea. All shows are recorded from start to finish with multi-track by professional sound engineers, including all announcements and additions.
Available on a memory stick and as MP3 download - simply select the product you want, add to cart and follow the ordering process step by step. The MP3 download is always available starting from the day of each concert."

The information is also put in English on company's official Facebook page:
https://de-de.facebook.com/bleeckerstreetentertainment

"Good news! Fans across Europe have the opportunity to purchase live soundboard recordings of every show on Chris Rea’s upcoming THE LAST OPEN ROAD tour.

With the Last Open Road tour set to launch in Salzburg on October 29, we are pleased to announce an extra special offering for fans: Every concert will be recorded and mixed by professional sound engineers using multi-track audio technology.

These high-quality recordings will be available immediately after each Show and online on a unique metal concert MP3 stick in the shape of Chris Rea’s Guitar, complete with matching case.

An ideal collector's item, these mementos will allow fans to enjoy the concert again at home.

Fans can pre-order their concert stick now at www.bleecker-street-shop.com. Orders will start being dispatched the day after the first show in Salzburg.

Each order will include a complete live recording of one of the concerts from the Last Open Road tour in 320 kbps MP3 format on a unique 4 GB USB stick, complete with matching case. Pre-order now!"

Bleecker Street was previously known as Simfy Live and this company recorded Mark Knopfler gigs upon his 2010 tour from soundboards and sold them as flash drives and digital downloads.
Now there are very attractive and stylish flash drives available for sale, surely much more than just a simple download!

Apparently good news! Finally some soundboard recordings from a post-2004 tour gig!

best regards
Andrey

In the left side up, on this side, you can choose "Sprache" to English.
Ordering one is more easy for non German speaking fans.
Ordered one myself and costs are with Sending it to your home, about €36!

Indeed great news Andrey.

Hi Anneke, thanks, I did not notice this option on the company's website and was pretty puzzled having not found an English version of such a serious company webstie.

Surprisingly, official Chris Rea Facebook page has been also updated today with this info:

https://www.facebook.com/ChrisReaOffici ... =1&theater

The photo of the package also depicts the stylish case for the memory stick.

It's amazing that the info has appeared on CR page right after I accidentally found it myself with a help of a friend.

The info on Bleecker Street FB page was posted a week ago, but nobody noticed so far.

Hi Ann, Andrey and all,
So, instead of a new CD, memory stick with a concert recorded live at different locations on this tour.
An interesting concept.
Best regards to you,
Chris

Hi Chris,

I do not think this is INSTEAD OF a new album but a nice addition, as Mark Knopfler had similar experience with this live recording company for his 2010 Get Lucky and 2013 Privateering tour and this did not interrupt his studio album plans.

And these Mark Knopfler soundboard recordings by Bleecker Street/Simfy Live were really of a high quality, and they say it is going to be the same engineer who work on this, so we can expect the same high quality for CR gigs recordings as well

Best regards

Hi Andrey,

I'm glad that you're an optimist, Andrey, just like Ann and - I presume - other CR's fans.
I'm disappointed somehow, to say the least, because I was waiting for a new material on a brand new CD. I wrote (at least we've gotten something) "instead of a new album" because still there's no new CD in sight and nothing is being said about it. This doesn't mean I would not welcome a new album anymore.
So, for a time being, I will settle for less, meaning: a live, high quality recordings on a stick. I take it as a new way of providing some revenue for Chris in an (apparent) absence of a contract with a record company.
Beast regards to all,
Chris

Hi MRB,

still no setlists announced anywhere, though on the official CR facebook page there are at least 2 comments from people who attended the yesterdays gig.

Meanwhile, I've found a fresh interview posted yesterday on the German 'Bild' magazine official website. Nothing new to learn, but there is a couple of nice photos of Chris.

well, one interesting thing, Chris seems to lie about setlists being done together with promoters and that the setlists changes depending on venue, when venue has changed anything on setlist which is same through the tour he is on and with very little changes to previous tour??

IMAGE: You have written countless hits. How to choose the songs for her concerts?

► Rea: We always work together with promoters who choose depending on the country, what songs get there well, hits were. The program thus changes depending on venue.
