hm, strange nobody's inspired to comment anything on this...

I made some amendments to the initital list - Daytona was also in the setlist of Montreux'97, Texas'83 might be played in 1984 as well (but I think somebody's mistaken it for Tennis) and On the Beach WAS played in late 1986, e.g., in Glasgow in November, in the most slow version, very close to 1986 album version, with long Max solo in the end (slow as well).

Still no one's amazed? I thought we could have at lest some conversation here...

best regards

At least 7 songs are suspected to be not ever played live as I lack reliable information about these live performances:

Your Warm and Tender Love
Heaven
90's Blues
Johnny Needs a Fast Car
King of the Beach
All Summer Long 2000
Who Do You Love
1) Who do You love live 2000-2001 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL2GKUzeY_I
2) Miles with a cigarette LIVE Donauinselfest 1997 (I think You've got it, when were in my home. Look Your video archive :))

Dear Peter,

The song Wired to the Moon is NOT on the list above... I wish I heard it live as well...
Me myself I have never heard as well live versions of Driving Home, Your Warm and Tender Love, Heaven, 90's Blues, Johnny Needs a Fast Car, King of the Beach, All Summer Long 2000, only came across somebody's mentioning them in the setlists... Did you heard any of them live?

Who Do You Love live on YouTube - amazing! Strange I did not find it myself...
But I wrote about fulltime gigs (at least 1 hour long), not about shorter TV shows.
On that show you gave link to, Chris also played All Summer Long unplugged and The Bones of Angels.

Miles Is a Cigarette live video - I thought it was from Montreux... Now I see there was at least 1 more performance that year. Maybe you know its setlist?..
I have found video of As Long As I Have Your Love from the same shot at Donauinselfest 1997
http://my.mail.ru/video/mail/riswankir/ ... 7341/22665
The YouTube account of the man who shot it with his home video camera has been deleted.
I have added this performance to the list.

Thanks all,

Andrey

Andrew,

This is a great subject for discussion.

I have trolled through most of the YouTube videos (I have put on some myself under Edgegbr) and I have watched the Who Do You Love clip many times.

I agree, I have quite a few copies of concerts by Chris but do not have a live copy of Who do Love, I do not believe it has been performed in a Chris Rea concert, if any member of this group has knowledge that proves this wrong then let us know.

Regards,

Hi Peter,

thanks for your reply.

The link previously given by Zel is in fact a playback on TV show, but with this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fX-Gx_6Z9ro you can listen to live unplugged performance of All Summer Long 2000 and Who Do You Love at WDR radio show. I have also an audio recording from Pitcher &Piano pub from 2000 where Chris played The Bones of Angels in the same way.

As far as I know, Chris did not play any songs from KOtB album in Cologne in 2001, but it is the only 2001 setlist I am aware of. Everything else is just a rumor I once or twice did come across.

90's Blues performance is mentioned at setlist.fm, surely not a reliable source, but I hardly believe somebody was so imaginative to pretend this.
Johnny Needs a Fast Car live performance (maybe a rehearsal?) can be seen in the official video clip to promote the single: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lO8FhgpG3DA
The same with You Can Go Your Own Way http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ-2O8CEXcA
Heaven and Your Warm and Tender Lover both were only mentioned by the fans recalling the setlists.
And the strangest thing for me is that Driving Home is not mentioned in the setslists of the Driving Home Nov-Dec'88 mini tour.

Thanks again,
Andrey

I do have a (poor) bootleg of Chris' concert at the Ice Rink Whitley Bay on the 9th December 1988 where the final encore song was Driving Home For Christmas and as I was at the that concert ( and I think the same one at Wembley Arena) Chris threw out a large inflatable Santa Clause into the audience as he played this final number which bounced around the arena as people passed it from back to front of the concert hall

PS I also have a bootleg of Chris singing Wired To The Moon as the final song on his visit to the Newcastle City Hall on the 11th Septembet 1984. It is the final song and fades after about 2min. 30 seconds.

Dear Poolie,

thank you very much indeed for your very useful comments and storing such a great collection and knowledge of Chris works!

Maybe you can comment something on the other suspected CR live performances?

Hi Andrey

Like you I have Chris singing some acoustic versions of the songs you mention. The only other one I have is warm and Tender Lovewhich Chris had in his 1990 set list bootlegs of which I have from Glasgow and Frieburg fromthat tour

Best wishes

Thank you Poolie, I have now amended the list again with Your Warm and Tender Love no longer suspected.

I wish I knew more about 2001 setlists... Not so long ago, but so little info about it...

is Driving Home live bootleg you mention come from Wembley'88 radio broadcast?
I found out from the saved page of the very old givernyblue.gb.com website that a whole 16-track recoding does exist, but I have never come it across...

And Your Warm and Tender Love may aslo feature on Temple Park/South Shields 1990-01-09 audience recording which I found in the same source... I have never seen Glasgow or Freiburg recordings from that tour...

Thanks again,
Andrey

Hi all,

I have updated the list with Bows and Bangles played in Paris in 1979 and Every Beat of My Heart which I found was played in Dublin Stadium, 4th Dec 1983
http://www.chrisrea.nl/index.php?cid=660

I read here on this forum from Chris (Poland) that there is a (partial) recording of this concert, even posted once on youtube, but I never heard anything more on this...
http://chrisrea.nl/community/viewtopic. ... dles#p6736

Hope more info to come forth soon,
