Hello Davy, welcome to the forum ! Perhaps you would like to introduce yourself a bit further in another part of the forum?!?

Well, I guess that is a hard question, specially since it varies from time to time ... :D :D

By far nr.1 in my "all time top ..." (from all artists) is "the road to hell".
I guess these songs must be in the top list as well (in various order):

- Seabrid
- Last drink
- 'till I find my true love...
- Winning
- ... I guess 10% or more from all Chris has ever made would fit here :D :D

Hi Everybody,
This is a very hard question to answer.I would agree with you Bart that The Road To Hell would be top of the list but the others at this moment in time would be
If I Ever Get Over You
Lucky Day ( Blue Guitars version )
Where The Blues Come From
Dancing The Blues Away.
I could put 100 more on this list and I still would not have them all.
I notice Davy that you have not listed your choice maybe you would as its always interesting to know what other fans like.Till next time
Kind regards
Tina :)

Hi there. I would love to oblige you, but it Waaaaayyyyy too hard to limit yourself to just 10. I can remember Fool and Let's Dance when they were singles. Then there was nothing till my brother picked up New Light Through Old Windows. (You have to realise that here in Australia, the radio did not exactly give Chris much air play.. ) It wasn't long before I got my own copy of New Light, and I was happy to listen to that for about 10 years. Then, I happened to be looking in a cd shop and found The Road to Hell. This CD opened the door for me, and I now have all but a few of his collection. But if I had to list a few...

The Road To Hell pt2
Texas
Johnny Needs A Fast Car
Speed
On The Beach (Both versions)
Let's Dance
Working On It(Both versions)
Auberge
Diamonds (Still sounds great after all this time)
Bombollini
Ace Of Hearts
Steel River

But not neccessarily in that order!

I agree the others, it's a question very hard to answer...
If we put Blue Guitars away (because all the songs are perfect and beloved) I can make a list of recently listened favourite songs:

-Let's Dance (all-time favourite, especially the live version)
-The Road to Hell (in a whole)
-Windy Town
-Stainsby Girls
-I Can Hear Your Heart Beat (long live version)
-Gone Fishing (You can waste a whole lifetime trying to be what you think that's expected of you, but you'll never be free)
-Daytona
-Square Peg, Round Hole
-Three Little Green Candles (ten times in a row)
-Auberge

I have to stop since it's ten :) , but let me mention Looking for the Summer, Ride On, Stony Road, Changing Times, Burning Feet, Banana Skin, Soft Top, Gonna Buy A Hat, Dancing the Blues Away and definitely Are You Ready, Texas Line Boogie and Irish Blues from BG. Can't stop...

I think I already posted mine here:
http://www.chrisrea.nl/community/viewto ... f=9&t=1092

(But I can add another ten here and never be done)

Shine Shine Shine (Wired to the Moon)
Loving You (Chris Rea)
I can hear your heartbeat (Water Sign)
Where do we go from here (The Blue Cafe),

wait, maybe it's easier to do it by albums,

Auberge
The Blue Cafe
Chris Rea
Dancing with Strangers
God's Great Banana Skin
King of the Beach
On the beach
The Road to Hell
The Very Best of Chris Rea
Water Sign
Wired to the Moon

Opoops ran out of space!
(you get the point... :D )

Hello,
I started this thread so it's high time to add my favourites :)
Of the songs I know I like especially the following (I don't own all Chris' albums; I only started buying them a few years ago and it'll take some time to complete my collection).
Set Me Free
Gone Fishing
Fool
The Road to Hell
Candles
Working On It
Looking For The Summer
Stony Road
Josephine
On The Beach
Girl In A Sports Car
and, of course, a lot of more. :)

I must say that this list changes frequently, but currently here are my favorites in no particular order, but the first song is getting a lot of play:

Do You Believe in Love (with the Vargas Blues Band)
Road to Hell
Soft Top, Hard Shoulder
Nothing to Fear
The Blue Cafe
You Must Be Evil
Josephine (all versions)
Looking For The Summer
Auberge
I Just Wanna Be Withy You Stone
Ace of Hearts
Freeway

Whoa - that's more than ten, I just can't stop!!!!!!!!

Cheers, Thom

Hi imagemkr,
I agree with you.Chris with Vargas Blues singing that song is just one of the best.I often wondered why they never did more together.I think they have similar guitar styles Chris been the better of course :) that they should have done more.

Pardon my ignorance, but is this great song "Do you believe in love" (with Chris Rea singing in duo) also available commercially?
I will appreciate an answer,
Chris

Hi,

I think this song is only available in the booleg ( Russian?) cd Chris Rea & Friends.

Regards,

Peter S...
Between the eyes of love I call your name
Behind the guarded walls I used to go
Upon a summer wind there's a certain melody
Takes me back to the place that I know
Down on the beach

Hi Peter,
Thank you so much for this info. I guess we would have to count on them (the Russians) for more interesting recordings. For instance, for a 'live' CD or a DVD, from the last tour....
Best regards to you,
Chris

I also have Blues Latino which has the version of Chris singing on this song.Chris if you go to buy a CD with this song on it just be careful as Vargas Blues has released a version of the same song on their CD called LAST NIGHT which DOES NOT have Chris singing on it.I hope this helps and if I may suggest some of Vargas Blues Band albums are well worth a listen to just in their own right.Xavier Vargas is another great guitar player.
