REA'S Creamy Ices Ltd

Post by lilybee »

Hi there, :D

I was doing some research for my Biology class on dry ice (Carbon, to be specific),
and came across this : (click on picture)

http://picture.stockton.gov.uk/photos/t802.aspx

Is this coincidence or what !! :D  :-)

I was told that's Chris' Dad.

It turns out the whole site is quite interesting.

Great pic Lily , as always. I'm sure you are aware that the " Rea" Italian immigrants ended up all over the world , usually sticking to the ICE CREAM & & FISH 'n'CHIPS CAFE 'S for a living. Where I live in Glasgow ,Scotland , many of Chris' relations have local business's ; Benny Rea ( I cut his hair !!!!) owns a cafe and John Rea runs the local Snooker club where I take my son , they are both related to CR , but not in the sense that they phone each other every week ......And strangely pronounce thier name RAE!!! not Rea ?
The Italian community in Scotland is much loved , but during WW2 , they had to go into hiding when Mussolini teamed up with Hitler ....it still gets talked about to this day !!!! That's what comes to mind when I see old pics of Italian immigrants ......Thanks again for the pic
See related story in the News page!

Is one of the men in this picture Chris's dad?

Very interesting information Alan we have an Italian community here that does the best chips ever. Not many into Ice cream.I wonder why did they change from Rea to Rae.Italian people are some of the nicest people you can meet.Much loved in this country too.

OOOOOOOPs again Tina , They still call themselves REA , but pronounce it RAE .. as Rae is a Scottish name , it was possibly done to fit in with the locals ...........you are right about the chips ......must go and get some !!!!!!!!

Tina , I should have said "RAY", is the way Scottish Italians pronounce REA !!!!!!!!!!!.......at last ,sorry.........
As for the hair , gotta admit it , back in the early 70's my hair was very similar ,and I really wish I still had it , but , in the words of the great man himself ,"Its All Gone"......................................

LILY, That PHOTO !!!!!!!!!!!As Bart & Tina said ,how do you do it ???????????????????. I have followed CR's career since Benny Santini, and you are pulling things out of the bag that no-one knows about ......a thousand thank you's !!!!!
