"Ghost"-fans

Bart,

Ik heb het idee dat er robot-aanmeldingen op je site zijn.
Veel members met "vreemde" websites.

[Edit webmaster:
Translation: There are some new "ghost" members with dubious websites
Please keep the forum in English as much as possible...

Yes, I know. Regrettably this is a common problem. Everyday I have to manually remove all these automatically added members. I have tried several securities (e.g. I removed the possibility to ad a website when you subscribe) but still these adds turn up… Sorry, there is not much I can do about it other then try to delete them as frequent as possible. If some one knows a solution, please let me know. Also, remember I am not online everyday, and when I am I don’t always have the time nor like to remove these members…

Bart,

I looked at the regitrationform of your site.(in profile.php)
In phpBB there is a possibility to build in a visual confirmation.

I think it's in the /includes directory and is called usercp-confirm.php.

I use it for my forum-site and don't have troubles with ghost-users.

Worth a try??
