You know, I like that, no bullsh*t, your lyric looks balanced and with some stuff between the lines :)
I can see that Chris has been the biggest influence for me
Nope, can't be, where? ............

Here´s one other, this is some serious blues :)

MEMORIES OF YOU AND ME

The past comes knocking on my memory door,
maybe for settling down ancient score.

Familiar face, this same old place,
times that used to be, memories of you and me.

Easy spring days, no knowledge about hard ways.
You and me, we were one, but now we are done.

Now you ain´t around anymore and I feel so poor.
I didn´t want to let you go, but I had to do it anyhow.

We had it all, love, tenderness, friendship, happiness.
Times that used to be, memories of you and me.
Too many good words to add here.
I better just sit back and drink beer. :)

Not bad! This one is... heavier?
Are there just lyrics or did you record them as songs?

Unfortunately I haven´t learned to play any instrument so at the moment there are just these lyrics which I write. Anyhow I´ve always wanted to learn to play guitar and actually I´ve tried it sometimes with my friends guitars. I´m going to buy guitar in near future so let´s see if there´s someday music with these lyrics :)

Cool, I see it now... you take the guitar - I'll sit at the drums - so now we need a vocalist and the "Tribute to Chris Rea" band has formed

Seriously, you need to pay attention to your music, if it doesn't look too similar to Chris' ... ;)

Ok, here´s something what I´ve written :)

YESTERDAY`S BLUES

I got this feeling like I´m living the yesterday again.
The strange part is that I´m living only moments of pain.
No sunshine on my sight, I have to ramble in the dark rain.

Well I know, I had some good times too, where did them go?
I quess them slipped from my fingers like a river flows.
I gotta find those good times again before the blues grows.

I know, I don´t wanna keep walking down this misery lane.
I wanna forget my blue past, tomorrow can´t be the same.
I´m trying so hard, fighting back is the name of the game.

Now, english ain´t my mother language so there´s some mistakes, but I think that everyone understands what the hell I´m writing here :)

NICE!

I got today big news about guitar. I´m doing a website for local music store and I will get nice guitar from them as a return. Can´t wait to get it to my hands. I loaned my friends guitar a while ago and now I don´t have to loan it anymore, cool :)

I discover about Chris Rea not long ago and I am discovering more and more through his music ... I dont have for instance the Latin-blues ... I must get them and listening carefully ...

I think Chris express so well in his writings his passion about life and I just love his songs and I feel identify with some of them.
... and Spring has arrived ... awaiting for some news from the voice and the man ...

Hi there, mind if I join in a little late? What I find special about Chris's lyrics are that they are so accessable to everyone. You don't need to have a degree, you don't have to be good at cryptic puzzles, you just have to have a heart, to be able to feel, and to let yourself be taken away with the moment. I am not a Christian, but I was so moved by Tell Me There's A Heaven, that I have found the odd tear in my eye on occassions. I guess what I am saying is that Chris writes great songs, but every now and then he writes songs that touch us on an emotional level.

It gets you through the good and the bad times we all experience in this life.
