Chris Rea crooner cover album

Recent BBC2 "Ain't No Sunshine" cover brought to my mind all the other covers he has done such as Moon River and "Left My Heart in San Francisco". Also thought came up to my mind that what if Chris would do album of cover songs? Would you like it?

I know Chris himself is still shy about his vocals and singing but if only someone could pitch him the idea, would be good :)

On such album it would have to be really the real band without one single sound of computers and I think it could be more of acoustic sounding album. Maybe some slide, but don't think it would be needed on every song.

Making truly huge hit around the globe these days seems almost like impossible mission, well known cover song could end up being one.

What are your thoughts?

A great idea that will probably never come to life. I would also include some of his onw songs in acoustic versions, why not? Like he played 'Fool' on TV with just Robert and Martin.
I don't even mind Mr. Drinkwater if they give him a piano with only two modes: Grand Piano and Fender Rhodes :D

After last night's gig, I can say, yes, only if he wants to. His guitar must be part of it though.
He crooned well. :)

Maybe we can make our own Crooners Album?
"Before I go" would be perfect too. Next too what was played on Radio 2 and live on stage.
