I you would be able to put together your own Greatest hit album of Chris Rea, which numbers would you put on the album?

6. Josephine

11. On the beach
12. Fool if you think it over
13. I can hear your heartbeat
14. Set me free
15. Tell me there's a heaven.

That's a great list you put together ! Do you mean Texas from Water Sign or from The road ? Texas from the road album is one of my LESS favorite tracks, while Texas from the water sign album is high in my top 20 !!

If I had to make my own best of... it would be a 10-CD collection ! I know; I have started making a "best of selection" on MINIdisc once (in 1998) and when I had selected the tracks from "The blue cafe" I had (have). I had 7 discs of 74 min. I still use this collection; when I go on vacation i take this with me, so I always have my complete (till '98) REA-collection with me (song I like). Do you also have this; when you are on the most impossible places (like on vacation) you MUST listen to this one song; a very unknown B-side... This best of collection comes out handy then ! Well, back to my own top songs...
I think you must include only "studio" recordings in this compilation; because I think live tracks are best heard as a whole concert... besides: then my list would get even (much) longer!

My all-time favorite song (in my opinion the best song ever written) is "the road to hell..."

Also in my top 10:

Seabird
Winning
Texas (water sign)
Set me free
From love to love
Driving home ...
Twisted wheel
Letter from Amsterdam
Loving you again

...as you can see, Deltics is one of my favorite albums !

I could not choose which tracks to place on a CD
to create my Own Best Of...
So I went out & purchased an ipod
& placed all his Albums, Singles, & Mini Albums I have onto it.
I can sit back & listen to nearly 350 tracks which is over 27 hours.
Switch the ipod onto Random & you get to listen to a great variety.

The Best of? 70% of songs

I'm trying now to compose the list, uhhhhh that's really hard task... still 24 left, that's too much, let's give them deeper selection... all outstanding tracks........ :D

okay after half an hour it's still not very clear, but the prizes go to:

Sweet summer day
Driving home for christmas
Windy town
Tennis
Shadows of the big man
E
All summer long (new from KOTB)
90's blues
Soft top, hard shoulder
Good morning
Firefly
Baby don't cry

But the truly complete Best Of would contain about 30 songs.
