Re: josephine la version francaise (long version)

The origins of the so called french version is a re-recording of the hit single when the record company tried to (re)introduce Chris Rea in France in 1987. I assume that as he was recording songs for the 'new light through old windows' album the record company used an early version of this re-record...

Re: 2001 - The very best of

You get all the regular album versions, with one exception. The josephine version is the original single version instead of the later 'new light through old windows' version. This is as far as i know the only CD which includes the original 'hit' single.

Re: josephine la version francaise (long version)

First question, is the original Shamrock LP version on CD? No Secondly when was the 2001 version recorded, the liner notes say produced by Jon Kelly, but it sounds very different from the New Lights version. Hope someone has the answers! This is the original 1985 single version (remastered?), note ...

Re: FABULOUS HOFNER BLUENOTES

Some info found the way into my mailbox:
he says that the release date for the Hofner Blue Notes and the Delmonts is the 28th January and that they are working on finalising the website. Not that he said so but you might anticipate some slippage on one or both if the past is any guide!!

Re: Old songs

I think you will be dissapointed again, he wanted to play more of the recent songs. That's why he made the last your a 'farewell tour'...
