Re: Chris his new double album and singles/tour etc

[quote="daveid"]Incidentally, the fact that this is a Warner / Rhino compilation makes me wonder if the complete re-mastered back catalogue might be on the way, maybe 2-disc editions? That's exactly what Rhino did with Elvis Costello earlier this decade.... That would be every fan's dream....

Re: Chris his new double album and singles/tour etc

Rhino are really just the archive division for Warner so it's not really another move of record label by Chris. Rhino actually have a good reputation for managing back catalogues although they do sometimes just do the standard best of's too. [Case in point is the current Rod Stewart reissue campaign...

Re: Chris his new double album and singles/tour etc

[quote="Tina3"]Hi Everyone, Thanks for the information rs4951. I hope Amazon have made a mistake in the description of this album and instead of it been yet another "best of" it is one of the long awaited follow up that Chris mentioned over the last year.Well not too much longer ...

Amazon.co.uk have the album down for October 5th. Cover pic is on the site.
A version with DVD is also coming.
Title reduced to "Still so far to go - the best of"
It's on the Rhino label it seems..

Re: Chris his new double album and singles/tour etc

Maybe it's one cd of old hits and one new album like he pretenders have done?
(Probably wishful thinking, as I too am sick of compilations)

Hi!

Are the songs on the vinyl the same as the CD's or different?

Thanks!

Re: Record Collector Magazine jan.'08

It's a short interview, not worthy of featuring on the cover or anything - but it is there alright.
Don't have a copy though, sorry.

Re: 2001 - The very best of

Hi,

I have pretty much all of Chris's albums, but am not too familar with different versions of various songs.
Can someone tell me what tracks on this album are different from the original album versions - so that I know whether it is worth buying.
Many thanks.

Re: New Chris Rea release 20/08/2007

I'm afriad WEA/Warner record of releasing compilations is not encouraging with regard to the inclusion of rare / previoulsy unreleased tracks. They usually spend as little time and money as possible on such projects (where the artist has moved on to another label) and focus on the artists better kno...

I would recommend you those albums: -water sign -wired to the moon -the road to hell (part 1 & 2) -blue guitars I'd go with Wired to the moon, Dancing with strangers, Road to hell and The blue jukebox first. I think Jukebox is the most accessible route to Chris's new style rather than diving in...

Hi, New albums are always released in Ireland the Friday before the UK release date because the Irish chart week runs from Friday to Thursday. Just another little benefit of living here 8) . Has the mystery of CDWOW's 3 versions been resolved? I presume the most expensive one is the deluxe 2CD limit...
